Caddieapp - “Keep It Simple” 2.0.3

Several years ago, during a round on a new course, I encountered an issue with the golf application on my Apple Watch. It provided distance readings based on my phone’s location rather than my actual position on the course. Additionally, the app did not display the course map on the watch, necessitating frequent checks of my phone for navigation. This experience prompted me to develop an application that prioritized simplicity, addressed the core needs of casual golfers, and operated independently of the phone.

Within a few months, the initial version of Caddieapp was created. Adhering to its guiding principle—“Keep It Simple”—the app emphasized clear course maps, accurate distance measurements, and straightforward scorekeeping directly on the watch. As the user base expanded, feedback indicated that those without an Apple Watch appreciated the app’s simplicity and requested an iPhone version. Consequently, Caddieapp for iPhone was developed to mirror the watch experience but optimized for one-handed use, allowing golfers to easily carry a club while obtaining distances or recording scores simultaneously.

Today, the app has evolved to include a new trial mode enabling users to test Caddieapp free of charge at one course without any time restrictions. This feature provides ample opportunity to evaluate its utility before committing to a subscription for access to additional courses. Although it does not encompass every course initially, plans are in place to expand coverage promptly based on user requests. Caddieapp has become an indispensable tool in my own gameplay, and I believe it can offer similar benefits to others in their golfing experience.
